868 twin wire mesh fence panels along a railway boundary

Railway Boundary Fencing

SK Weldedmesh supplies welded mesh boundary fencing for Indian Railways, metro depots and station areas: 358 anti-climb mesh where trespass and cattle intrusion must be stopped on high-speed and electrified sections, 3D welded mesh panels for long depot and land-demarcation runs, and 868 twin wire where a flat, heavier panel is specified. All panels are galvanised and powder coated to IS 13871 and supplied as complete kits with posts, clamps and gates.

Depot, yard and workshop perimeter 3D welded mesh panel, 2.0 to 2.4 m, 4 or 5 mm wire

Welded mesh boundary fence along a railway line

Send the tender clause and we will quote against it line by line, including posts, foundations, gates and installation drawings.

Why Railways Specify Welded Mesh

358 anti-climb fence

Stops Trespass

Small apertures give no foothold, so people and cattle cannot cross the track corridor.

Powder coated mesh has no scrap value

Zero Scrap Value

Powder coated mesh is not stolen the way chain link and barbed wire are, so the fence stays complete.

3D mesh fence along railway

See-Through

Drivers, patrol staff and CCTV see through the fence; nothing hides behind it.

Anti-tamper clamp

Tamper Resistant

Anti-tamper clamps and bolts cannot be undone from outside without special tools.

Fence on sloping ground

Follows the Ground

Panels step with the terrain on embankments and cuttings without gaps.

Long fence run

Fast to Install

Modular 2.5 m panels on bolted posts go up quickly between traffic blocks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which fence does Indian Railways normally specify?

Tender clauses vary by zone. Track-side and station boundaries commonly call for anti-climb welded mesh (358 type) or 3D welded mesh panels, galvanised and powder coated, on steel posts in concrete. We quote exactly to the clause supplied.

How is the fence installed next to a live track?

Panels are modular and posts are bolted or set in pre-cast foundations, so work is done in short traffic blocks. We supply installation drawings and sequence with the site engineer.

Do you supply test certificates and tender documents?

Yes. Mill test certificates for the wire, galvanising and coating-thickness reports from our in-house lab, third-party NABL test reports on request, and a line-by-line compliance statement against the tender specification.

What is the lead time for project quantities?

Standard panels ship within 2 to 3 weeks of order confirmation; project quantities are scheduled against your site programme and delivered in phases from our Kolkata plant.

Do you install?

We manufacture and supply across India with installation drawings and a bill of materials. Installation is available through our approved partners, or your contractor installs with our drawings and site support.
